Mif MCP server: property management tools for AI agents

Mif exposes a Model Context Protocol gateway over SSE, so an AI agent can read property state, submit meter readings, inspect wallets and record transactions through the same authorised surface a human operator uses. Twelve tools, scoped to the organisation the credentials belong to.

Transport and connection

The gateway speaks MCP over Server-Sent Events. An agent opens a stream on the SSE endpoint and posts JSON-RPC messages back on the message endpoint; the server replies on the stream.

Authorisation happens per connection, not per call: the credentials identify a user and an organisation, and every tool call afterwards runs inside that organisation's context. There is no tool that can reach across organisations, which is enforced at the data layer rather than by the tool's own checks.

  • MCP over SSE, JSON-RPC 2.0 message format
  • `initialize` → `tools/list` → `tools/call`, the standard handshake
  • One organisation per connection, resolved from the credentials
  • Row-level isolation applies to agent calls exactly as to human ones

What the tools cover

The catalogue is deliberately operational rather than administrative: an agent can answer questions and record facts, but it cannot restructure the account.

  • search_rentals — public marketplace listings by city, price, rooms, availability
  • get_properties_list / get_property_details — the organisation's properties
  • add_property_reading — submit a meter reading
  • get_bills_history — utility charges over time
  • get_wallets_balance — balances across the organisation's wallets
  • create_transaction / get_transactions_history — record and read financial movements
  • read_analytics — reporting data for the organisation
  • analyze_purchase_decision — buy-versus-rent comparison for a property
  • get_wealth_advisor_summary — portfolio-level financial summary
  • create_project — create a workspace

What an agent can actually do with this

The useful patterns are the ones a person would otherwise do by hand every week: read the month's meter values and file them, answer an owner asking what came in last month, or check whether a property is free on given dates before replying to an enquiry.

What it is not is an autonomous operator. Nothing in the catalogue moves money, changes a price or communicates with a guest — those stay with the person, and that boundary is drawn in the tool list rather than in a prompt.

The guest-facing AI is a separate thing

The MCP gateway is for agents acting on behalf of the owner. The concierge that answers guests is a different surface, grounded in the property's own knowledge base and bounded by the stay window. They share the property record and nothing else — an agent connected over MCP does not see guest conversations, and the concierge cannot call MCP tools.

FAQ & AI KNOWLEDGE

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

A Model Context Protocol gateway that lets an AI agent read and record property, utility and financial data in Mif. It speaks MCP over SSE and exposes twelve tools, all scoped to the organisation the credentials belong to.

Connect an agent to a real property

The first property is free permanently. The MCP gateway unlocks once your organization has a paid (second or later) property. Create an account, add a property and point your agent at the SSE endpoint.
